A short support guideline can be found in profile OVIVA. There, most important functions are explained based on the profile OVIVA.
In addition profiles of Michael and Susanna will provide support with examples how to set up a profile. When you have questions you can address them to one of these COACHES or to any other coaches listed at Helpdesk.

How can I use this platform?

1. Profile

First create a profile in 'Start > Profile'. Take as much time as you wish, you can keep it brief or comprehensive. For a quick start we recommend to complete the following sections: short profile, background image and profile photo. Depending on how much information is entered, profile appears in profile category PRIVATE and/or BUSINESS and/or POLITICS.

2. Privacy settings

After the profile is created, go to 'Start > Settings' and define who may see your data and who may contact you which way.

3. Searching and finding

Now you can search for other profiles. They are listed in menu PROFILE by different profile categories:
PRIVATE Individuals
BUSINESS Business persons
POLITICS Politicians
DIRECTORY Companies, organizations, associations, schools, authorities, and more
MUSIC Music bands and music producers
PRESS Editors of news information
You can also search for content. In menu ARTICLES you find different content channels:
ADS Private advertisements and corporate advertisements by different categories
PHOTOS Photo gallery of images stored in the photo album of all users
REPORTS Reports by different categories i.e. travel reports, consumer reports, press releases, etc.
CONTESTS Competitions and contests to win prizes
Other content channels will follow soon, such as video.

4. Interaction

If you found something exciting you can perform different actions:
Bookmark: Bookmarking profile with a note for better retrieval.
Picture message: Sending an image message without text.
Direct SMS: Sending a message to the mobile phone.
Chat invitation: Inviting a person for a web/SMS chat.
Contact invitation: Inviting a person to set a mutual link with his profile.
Guestbook: Adding a public message to the guestbook of that person.

How to search?

First choose a profile category, for example PRIVATE for individuals. Select entries according your search criteria’s in the search box to the right. In the field distance you enter a search region related to your postal code as entered in your short profile settings. When clicking SEARCH, search result is shown to the left as a list of short profiles according to current search settings. Current search settings are stored until they are changed. When clicking RESET, search settings will be set to default values.

Where can be searched?

The search area as entered in field distance is related to the postal code / city and its country as entered in short profile.
ZIP: Results with the same postal code are returned.
My city: Results of the same city according to given postal code are returned.
My area: Results of the same area are returned.
My region: Results of the same region are returned.
My country: Results in my country are returned.
My continent: Results in my continent are returned.
Worldwide: Worldwide results are returned.

How can I search in a different city that where I live?

The postal code that can be entered in short profile relates to my current place of interest. If you wish to search in a different city, first define the postal code of that city and then define the search distance related to that city.
